TO: REGIONAL CENTER EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
SUBJECT: SELF-DETERMINATION PROGRAM: UPDATES TO BILLING PROCESSES
The purpose of this correspondence is to provide notification of recent Uniform Fiscal System (UFS) and eBilling enhancements that will improve the efficiency of billing processes and payments to Financial Management Service (FMS) providers supporting Self-Determination Program (SDP) participants. Specifics on these enhancements are contained in the enclosed Technical Bulletin #524 and address the following areas:
- Approval of FMS invoices.
- Correction of FMS billing errors.
- Fiscal year crossover.
These enhancements do not require action from the SDP participant or Regional Center Service Coordinator.
Consumers, family members, and providers should contact their local regional center with questions regarding this correspondence. Regional centers with questions should email sdp@dds.ca.gov.
