Service Code Description: #
Dental services are defined in Title 22, California Code of Regulations, Section 51059 as professional services performed or provided by dentists including diagnosis and treatment of malposed human teeth, of disease or defects of the alveolar process, gums, jaws and associated structures; the use of drugs, anesthetics and physical evaluation; consultations; home, office and institutional calls. All medically necessary dental services for children under age 21 are covered in the state plan pursuant to the EPSDT benefit. Dental services in this waiver are only provided to individuals age 21 and over and only when the limits of dental services furnished under the approved state plan are exhausted. Dental services in the approved state plan are limited to $1800 annually or by the amount that is determined medically necessary.
